Well done Steve. I think one can genuinely claim that yours can be a unique facility on Substack and you are clearly one of those politicians who would have occupied the top strata when we had such a thing prior to, perhaps 1990. Good luck.
Congratulations Steve. Great to see. One future topic I would like to see is your appraisal of Brexit. How's it gone so far. Are we as a Country net better off or net worse off. If we are not better off, why not and what's still to do to finish the project. Will we in the long term be better off or, on reflection now, do you think we should have stayed in/re-join. I'm as pro-Brexit as they come but sometimes I do have to think long and hard in order to defend my position to anti-Brexit friends. Some ammunition to fire back would be welcomed. Cheers, David
In answer to your question, like most people I don’t understand government that well. I would be interested in introductions to political topics that helps to introduce why are certain problems so intractable and/or deep analysis of current political issues but from a perspective that explains why they are hard rather than just politicking. I would read a blow by blow of recent political history but I suspect that is pretty raw right now and I would also read anything on your influences like what makes you tick etc.
I think I would probably say I like politics but I don’t know where to start to move beyond the noises week to week news cycle.

I am honoured indeed! Thank you

Thanks David. That’s a big one but will do!
