The Spring Statement
If reflecting on Labour's Spring Statement tomorrow fills you with dread, you are right. Thankfully, the Growth Commission has set out what a better government could do.
Yesterday, I attended the Spring Statement briefing from the Growth Commission. I left filled with hope: thanks to trade and competition expert Shanker Singham and Conservative peer Jon Moynihan, we have in our hands the recipe to return this country to economic growth and, with that growth, hope and then happiness.
Alas, it does not seem likely that tomorrow Rachel Reeves will announce the Government are adopting the Commission’s recommendations.
